Knife block made of Star Galaxy Gold with gold plating and a mother of pearl ammonite.

This ammonite has a special feature. The shell of the ammonite is iridescent, like mother-of-pearl, in silvery, shiny tones. In sunlight, a beautiful play of colors unfolds in various bluish, golden-yellow and red tones. The background of the ammonite is gold-plated, and the holder is also gold-plated.

Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that lived in the sea. There were around 40,000 different species, the largest of which grew to be up to two meters long . Ammonites come from the Lower Cretaceous period. This makes them around 150 million years old. The shape of their shells resembles a spiral tube. The animals only lived in the end of the tube. The remaining chambers were filled with air and made it easier to sink and rise in the water.

The Star Galaxy Gold from India exudes a sparkling and luxurious ambience. It is particularly impressive due to its gold and bronze-colored inclusions that sparkle on its deep black background. When polished, its full radiance comes into its own. The stone fits into any living environment that relies on strong contrasts. Simply elegant and timeless. The reflective minerals are bronzites embedded in a dark matrix. The Star Galaxy Gold is a gabbro and not granite. A gabbro is a fine-grained igneous rock that was formed deep in the earth's interior. It consists mainly of dark minerals such as pyroxene, hornblende and olives; quartz is absent or only occurs in trace amounts.
